Randstad has been engaged by a leading water authority in Melbourne to recruit for three positions in the Statutory Planning teams. This role offers hybrid working (1-2 days in the CBD office) and career progression opportunities. In this role, you are responsible for providing statutory planning, building and subdivision recommendations on future development of Statutory Referrals on flood overlays, drainage areas, asset protection overlays or other types of statutory trigger.

Statutory Planner
- 6 month assignment (opportunity for extension)
- 1-2 days in the office
- Melbourne CBD
- up to $60 per hour + super (depending on experience)
- 18 month assignment
- 1-2 days in the office
- Melbourne CBD
- up to $75 per hour + super (depending on experience)
- Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or similar discipline required, statutory planning preferred.
- Demonstrated experience within a referral authority (local or state government required).
- Understanding of floodplain management, waterway management and drainage, waterway health and waterway livability.
- Ability to determine 1000+ complex and major applications per year, while managing competing deadlines and priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, both internal and external.
