Governance Officer

Randstad is looking for an experienced Governance Officer for a State Government department. This is a 6 month contract working from home until further notice. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with committee members and other key stakeholders. To be successful in this role your exceptional organisational skills will be key, as well as a desire to develop your knowledge further to provide expert advice.

The duties of the Governance Officer include:

  • Coordination of appointment schedules and calendars, plan and schedule meetings, conferences (at the moment virtually)
  • Provide expert governance advice where required
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and productive working relationships with cross-functional project teams, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparation of high quality ministerial correspondence
  • Monitoring the implementation and progress of meeting decisions and projects
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of meeting papers consistent with the charter/terms of reference requirements.

Skills/experience:

  • Governance and/or secretariat experience
  • You will have the demonstrated capacity to develop strong networks.
  • Outstanding written skills
  • Ability to work independently to achieve tasks within strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Previous experience working within a Government Department desirable
