Senior Researcher

This NSW Government agency shapes and impacts the visitor economy by employing strategic research, policy development and thought leadership, alongside engaging stakeholders through consultation, forging commercial partnerships, investing in visitor experiences, providing business support and organising marketing initiatives and events.

About The Role

  • Conduct and oversee quantitative (and occasionally qualitative) research endeavours to guide business decisions, strategies and monitor organisational performance.
  • Oversee both internal and external stakeholders, including research partners, ensuring alignment with organisation, business and research objectives.
  • Execute campaign evaluations, assess creative concepts, perform segmentation, analyse and report performance through department tracking studies and other relevant sources.
  • Supervise all facets of research project operations, encompassing the formulation of research objectives and methodology, development of questionnaires, analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate ad-hoc primary and secondary research initiatives, collaborating with other departments to offer a comprehensive research perspective to stakeholders.
  • Present and communicate research findings and data using visually accessible formats.
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements within the Division by reviewing and upholding work processes and procedures and identifying opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Support knowledge management initiatives within the department and fulfil team operational needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary credentials or proven equivalent professional background.
  • Proven experience in market research.
  • Proven familiarity with brand and advertising tracking, campaign evaluation and creative concept testing methodologies.
  • Proven track record in project management, delivering quantitative research and analytical reporting projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of various analysis and reporting techniques, technologies and tools including software such as SPSS/Q, Displayr, Qualtrics, Advanced Excel & PowerPoint (Q experience is essential).
