The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority whose role it is to work with and support local communities to improve sustainable land, biodiversity and water resources management, in an area stretching from its head office in Colac to Geelong, Ballarat and Peterborough.
Project Officer, Regional Citizen Science (Colac/Geelong)
Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2020
Full Time – 38 hours per week
Salary range: $69,490 to $79,266 per annum (negotiable based on experience) plus superannuation
A rewarding opportunity for a Project Officeris now being offered to be responsible for the regional coordination of Citizen Science programs including Estuary Watch and Water Watch programs and their integration with other Corangamite CMA projects.
With a focus on developing and delivering regional citizen science projects and programs that provide critical data and information, and build community engagement in environmental protection and management, this role also contributes to the business and cultural development of the organisation through building and maintaining relationships with staff and key stakeholders.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities with the ability to engage and gain cooperation from others. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach, possess the ability to build strong professional relationships, and to work as part of a team. You will actively contribute to building and supporting a high performing organisational culture and model the values of the Corangamite CMA and the Victorian Public Service.
This role requires experience in community development, community engagement, citizen science or the management and training of volunteers, and a relevant qualification or substantial relevant experience.
