Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
The Research and Education Network (REN) organises key services to sustain and grow research, education, innovation and commercialisation within WSLHD. REN supports research and education nurses, medical, allied and population health staff who conduct research. 

This position, based in REN will provide both advice and expertise in the development and implementation of databases for clinical research, education and REN operations. This will include maintenance of high-quality data through the effective management, system maintenance and reporting, data security and user support to meet the business needs of clinical researches and REN. The role will work specifically with the Neurology Department and Storr Liver Unit.

Selection Criteria:
  1. Extensive demonstrated experience in creating databases within and using the REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) software.
  2. Demonstrated experience in or understanding of a clinical research environment with a good knowledge of the ethical principles of research, and the privacy and confidentiality associated with research databases.
  3. Demonstrated experience in database design, development and management, including the ability to adapt software systems, including the ability to implement processes to ensure the coordination of data management, data integrity and quality.
  4. Demonstrated high level computer literacy including expert skills associated with maintaining a large clinical database and handling substantial complex datasets, software validation, quality assurance and reporting.
  5. Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills to work with senior analysts and programmers in Digital health Services, Medical Records and the eMR programmers, database administrators and clinical researchers.
  6. Demonstrated experience with high level data validation and statistical analysis e.g. cataloguing, grouping, and analysis of statistics.
  7. Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to present information in a matter understood by both technical and non-technical audience.
  8. Demonstrated strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities and be flexible to change and a proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
