Administrative Officer

The Legislative Council is seeking a part time administrative officer to work in the Council Committee office on a fixed term basis. The successful applicant will provide high level administrative support to Council committees.

The key objectives of the role include:

  • Provide high level administrative support to Committees, including meeting preparation, arranging inquiry hearings and organising travel arrangements as required.
  • Develop and maintain databases and records of Committees including submissions, transcripts and correspondence.
  • Prioritise conflicting work requirements and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high level of competency within strict timelines; and work in a highly sensitive political environment. 

Essential criteria include excellent administrative, organisational, time management and computer skills; excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and team work skills. You must also have the ability to work with minimal supervision, complete tasks subject to time constraints, be flexible and be able to deal with the challenge of working in an all-party political environment.

Salary: Grade 3.1 $ 65,713 plus superannuation

Term of appointment: Part time (3 days per week), fixed term to 31 October 2018
