Research Coordinator (AV4) 

 

Ambulance Victoria (AV) provides outstanding emergency healthcare, every time. To continue providing this ongoing commitment, AV is seeking an innovative and experienced Research Coordinator to support the delivery of AV's Medical Directorate research programs and projects.  This is a full-time, ongoing role primarily located in Blackburn North, however the successful candidate will have the flexibility of working from our Blackburn North offices and also from home.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Centre for Research and Evaluation, the role is an integral position in Research and Evaluation as it is responsible for analysing and reporting on data and information relating to strategic research priorities and projects.

Key actions will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and designing research projects including project plans, analysis plans and ethics
  • Overseeing and monitoring of research projects
  • Providing data extracts and analysis for key Research Projects
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships and partnerships, by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate improvements
  • Actively participating in project teams, consulting, sharing and communicating information in an understandable format

About you

You will hold an appropriate tertiary qualification and/or have experience preferably working within the health sector, the emergency services or the transport industry.  Your experience in developing analytical products such as data analysis outputs, reports and data visualisations, and putting them into meaningful output for technical and non-technical audiences is crucial for this role.  In addition, you will be well versed in analysing large and complex data sets using statistical packages, possess a solid working knowledge of relevant software tools and demonstrate proficiency in MS office suite, in particular Excel, Access and Outlook, including other relevant software applications. 

Your lateral thinking, well developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills including a strong eye for detail, will enable you to identify issues and risks and determine appropriate courses of action.  Your drive, enthusiasm and energy coupled with your ability to work in a fluid, dynamic and agile environment will see you successfully deliver quality outcomes within the specified timeframes. 
Finally, your strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, will enable you to convey clear messages and build and maintain effective working relationships. You will hold a current Victorian Driver's Licence and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, if required.

AV has introduced salary bands, and this position is graded at AV4.  The salary range for an AV4 position is $93,819 to $117,413pa plus 9.5% superannuation. The successful candidate will be required to make a Statutory Declaration and undertake an Australian National Criminal Check in conjunction with other pre-employment checks.
