Clinical Systems Specialist

Ambulance Victoria (AV) is eager to welcome applications for the position of Clinical Systems Specialist.  This role offers the opportunity to maintain and develop Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) clinical IT systems, including the ARV case management, bed management, telehealth, data integrity and radiology systems as well as educational Learning Management Systems (LMS). This role is permanent part-time at 30.4 hours per week located at South Melbourne. 

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager ARV, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Support business users to be confident and competent with the systems necessary to undertake the responsibilities of their role, including the provision of technical recommendations, identification of process options and advice on the most effective and efficient solutions.
  • Complete activities that develop, contribute to and maintain accurate and compliant record keeping, with key oversight of a suite of ARV clinical systems and databases, to ensure quality assurance and strict governance arrangements
  • Conduct investigations and audits undertaking detailed data analysis and advise insights to support business decision making.
  • Be the key point of contact for AV and varied system developers regarding; system maintenance, system deployments, testing new system releases prior to production environment, and report problems associated with database architecture to database developers
  • In collaboration with the ARV Director and Operations Manager, produce reports and report templates that support data collection, reporting functions and data management systems for quality and audit reporting needs.
  • Identify key stakeholders and work pro-actively to gain their support and endorsement by establishing contracts, conducting presentations and hosting/attending stakeholder meetings
  • Deliver user training, support and feedback both directly to staff as well as via various forums, working groups and educational platforms 

About you

The successful candidate will possess experience in data management including the interrogation of data and preparation of reports, preferably in a service delivery environment and will have sound experience with web based related technologies. 

Proven experience in using computerised financial information systems, along with well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills to enable the identification of issues and the judgement to determine appropriate courses of action for achieving organisational goals. 

You will have highly developed technology-related general knowledge and attention to detail using appropriate checking/validation processes to ensure information is recorded accurately and is reliable quality. 

You will be an excellent communicator and have strong interpersonal and influencing skills to gain acceptance and support of ideas and the ability to modify style to accommodate situations and individuals.  You will possess demonstrated experience in developing and sustaining these strong working relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders. 

Finally, you will have team skills to actively participate as a member of a team and assist the team to move towards the completion of goals, be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and advanced in Microsoft Office, particularly in the use of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and relevant software applications.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required. 

Successful applicants will be required to undergo security checks such as police record. 

AV has introduced salary bands and this position is graded at AV4.  The AV grade salary range for an AV4 position is $91,531 to $114,549 (pro rata) plus 9.5% superannuation. The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position.
