About the role

Our Risk and Governance Team is responsible for ensuring CHW integrates risk management thinking into decision making throughout the organisation. The team put in place the protocols, procedures and frameworks that ensure the business is aware of its risks, and how to manage them efficiently and effectively, while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Our risk profile is experiencing great change, and we see the successful candidate playing a pivotal role in guiding us through this change, and developing a positive risk culture across the business. 

The team is a close-knit group who support each other, and the business, to ensure risk, compliance and governance is at the front of all our team member’s minds.  

Reporting to the General Manager, Business Services; the Manager, Risk and Governance will assist in leading CHW’s risk and compliance culture, enhancing the outcomes of all decisions to enable the achievement of strategic objectives.

Your role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing strategic direction and coordination of risk management as part of decision-making and planning within CHW
  • Promoting risk management as a core responsibility of management and an integral part of the organisation’s success
  • Ensuring a positive risk management and compliance culture is imbedded into CHW’s philosophy, practices and business processes
  • Helping the business achieve its strategic objectives through developing and implementing best practice corporate governance and emergency management frameworks
  • Ensuring there is an effective framework in place to facilitate the monitoring of obligations under statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Providing values-based leadership with a strong integrity focus in leading the Risk & Governance team to deliver a comprehensive risk management, governance and compliance solution for the business

About you

You will be a driven risk and compliance leader that is passionate about the positive affect your function can have on the success of any business. You will be a great communicator, with a strong ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders and your team. You will possess strong technical know-how and the ability to lift the bar further for our organisation. 

You will possess:

  • The ability to think strategically 
  • The ability to develop strategy and then effectively implement that into a business
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team
  • Strong risk, compliance and governance technical skills
  • The ability to build internal relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
