Nuclear Medicine Therapy Fellow

- Indicative Total Remuneration: $155,191 - $165,178 (pro rata) - MDP3; $177,647 - $231,231 (pro rata) - MDP4 - Temp P/T (15 hrs p/wk, from 1/2/2021 up to 28/1/2022)
Working under supervision, you will assist in the provision of a high quality therapeutic nuclear medicine service, and contribute to collaborative research within the Nuclear Medicine Department. You will be responsible for the coordination of therapy doses with patients, carers, referring clinician/oncologists and nuclear medicine staff. Assessing each patient by history, examination and consultation with the referring clinician, you will understand and apply the principles of radiation safety. You will ensure follow-up of patients following therapy, with a particular focus on ensuring both subjective (patient reported outcomes) and objective (biochemical and imaging) measures of response are consistently obtained. As part of your role, you will assist in the preparation of cases for the South Australian GEPNET MDT, record recommendations discussed at the MDT, and create summary letters for referring clinicians. You will continue the QOL work in collaboration with UniSA and participate in the CommNETS multi-centre trial.
You will have Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP), and you must be eligible to be registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner. Demonstrating advanced medical training in medicine, you will have experience in the preparation of multidisciplinary meetings. You will display a high degree of clinical excellence, including skills in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level. Along with genuine empathy for patients and their relatives/families, you will have the ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
