- 6 months temporary, full-time opportunity with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to ongoing appointment.
- Hybrid role – With travel to and onsite presence at responsible region/centres being essential.
- Total remuneration package from $223,416 - $247,519. This is a total remuneration package inclusive of superannuation and other benefits.
While our immediate vacancy is for 2 Directors to lead the Western and SAS Region (locations include Lake Keepit, Lake Burrendong, Orange, Dubbo and Narrabeen) and Southern Region (locations include Borambola, Berry, Jindabyne and Wollongong), this recruitment will also be used to create a Talent Pool to fill potential upcoming temporary and ongoing opportunities for Senior Leadership roles (Director Band 1) within the Centres, Venues and Regions group.

About the role
As a member of the OoS Senior Leadership team, you will drive the implementation of the Office of Sport’s 2024 – 2028 Strategic Plan and influence how sport and active recreation is played, accessed and consumed across NSW.
As a Director in our CVR (Centres, Venues and Regions) Group, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operations and management of the network of sport and recreation centres, oversight of projects, programs and initiatives targeted at improving participation in priority populations and the delivery of efficient contemporary programs that meet client needs and achieve the OoS’s organisational strategy. Your leadership and expertise will guide your teams to provide services, program delivery, and enhance utilisation of our centres and programs by our clients and the broader community.

About You
A strong and passionate people leader with track record of leading through change, you excel at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and managing multi-disciplinary teams to achieve strategic and customer focused outcomes. You are committed to creating a high-performance culture, delivering through collaboration and consistently putting the customer at the center of everything you do.
Your expertise in operational program design and delivery and your ability to provide evidence-based advice on strategic and operational priorities will enable your teams to deliver value for money, contemporary programs and activities that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Your leadership and coaching skills will support you in creating a high performance and inclusive team culture that promotes ongoing development and delivery of positive outcomes for staff and clients.
You will possess tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in an appropriate sport, business, commercial, planning, policy or related discipline. This role involves regular travel to collaborate with staff and stakeholders at various sports centres in the regions. You will also be required to work from the Office of Sport Head Office at Sydney Olympic Park for up to three days per month.
