About the role

The Building Maintenance Officer will be responsible for maintaining and repairing EGW’s buildings and facilities, primarily at our Bairnsdale Head Office. This will include performing or arranging programmed and general maintenance tasks and activities, as well as providing input into the preventative maintenance schedule and long-term facilities management plans.

With safety as our number one priority, the successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that our facilities and workplace environment are maintained efficiently and to a high standard, and that services are provided in a professional and courteous manner. This will include ensuring that engaged contractors are compliant with relevant building codes and standards, and that services are delivered safely and to our level of expectation.

About you

We are looking for the right fit for our team, who has the ability to engage professionally with contractors and employees across all levels of our organisation. This role would suit someone with a trade qualification and a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role or trade environment, who is looking for a position that offers flexibility, autonomy and a positive workplace culture.

The ability to competently use and maintain plant and equipment is essential to the role, combined with a general knowledge of building construction methods and materials. The ability to ensure compliance against building and maintenance service contracts, as well as an understanding of the requirements of working in a highly regulated public sector environment would be a distinct advantage.

This is a part-time position (approx. 23 hours per week) with flexibility to cater to your desired work schedule within our allowable span of hours (6am – 6pm, Monday - Friday). This role is substantively based at our Head Office in Bairnsdale, however occasional travel to facilities across the region may be required.
