Senior Program Manager

 

  • $158,839 per annum + superannuation
  • Full time, Fixed term to 30/06/2025
  • Geelong location (hybrid working model – 3 days in the office)

About the role

The purpose of this Senior Program Manager position is to partner with WorkSafe’s Intelligence Management Function (IMF), WSV Executive leaders and Strategic Delivery stakeholders to develop a strategy, plan and execute a high profile data and analytics program of work that supports delivery of WorkSafe strategy.

You will help set the purpose and direction of the program and will support various workstream leads, Project Managers and Directors in the execution of their plans, roles and responsibilities.  Working closely with the program sponsor and data and analytics technical leads, you will be responsible for establishing the program management structures through the program management lifecycle and managing the program to agreed delivery obligations of schedule, budget, scope, quality and risk.  You will ensure the linkages between the delivery of the program and the outcomes it will deliver.

The Senior Program Manager will apply industry best practices to the management of the program and contribute to the uplift of program and project management practices at WorkSafe Victoria as part of the Enterprise Project Management Practice Team. Accountabilities include:

  • Development of the Program Management Plan outlining the key constructs and approach for program management
  • Develop and support delivery of business cases and Board submissions where relevant, at both program and project level
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of establishing program governance structures, forums and providing clarity on roles and responsibilities to ensure delivery of strategic plans and effective decision-making processes
  • Develop the integrated master schedule and develop the program resource plan.  Manage the overall program schedule and resource plans and monitor project level progress, resource plan and schedules
  • Responsible for financial management of program forecast and budget, ensuring accuracy and appropriate commentary and reporting to executive steering committees and board.

About you

You are a highly developed program leader with a strong focus on delivering high quality outcomes and have an excellent understanding of program management disciplines. You have demonstrated experience and enjoy coaching and mentoring others with excellent interpersonal and broad stakeholder engagement skills. Further, you will also possess:

  • Proven leadership experience (+10 years) leading and driving high profile data and analytics technical programs within large organisations
  • Ability to engage with senior leaders and executives and provide robust, transparent and sound advice
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills.  Must be able to operate under broad direction exercising a considerable degree of independence
  • Experience and knowledge of program management frameworks and methodologies
  • Strong visionary skills, identifying and aligning program outcomes to strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary education in project and program management or significant industry experience together with relevant tertiary education in a business related discipline.
