Information Technology (IT) Manager

 

About the role:

The IT Manager is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of effective technology and digital based infrastructure frameworks, and solutions which provide robust, secure, and reliable systems that support the delivery of organisational outcomes and staff satisfaction.

The key focus will be on managing the day-to-day IT requirements while facilitating the broader planning and implementation of NSW Farmers Technology platforms that align to the strategic objectives of NSW Farmers and expectations of key stakeholders and staff. 

Furthermore, to manage technology-based risk and as Cyber Security Officer to provide the means to ensure a highly secure network, effective remediation plans, well informed and trained staff, and a culture of cyber awareness.

The role is a 2-year maximum term.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with the business objectives. And the opportunity for digital enhancement 
  • Ensure the effectiveness of all systems, service support arrangements, information asset management and cyber security practices and policies.
  • Develop an annual IT plan which presents value and aligns the technological and digital requirements of NSW Farmers 
  • Undertake a considered approach in reviewing the appropriateness of NSW Farmers current technology platforms and presenting related business cases and proposed plans.
  • Develop, motivate, and facilitate staff technology and cyber security training. 
  • Provide guidance and advise to the leadership team on key technological and digital matters that may impact NSW Farmers.

Applicants should Possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Technology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated IT and Systems management capability, including knowledge of contemporary Information Technology systems, support, and practices.
  • Experience in the development and management of digital systems and modernisation initiatives 
  • Focussed, driven and motivated.
  • A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation and technology, and can-do attitude.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Ability to develop and successfully manage relationships with external parties.
  • Proficient to highly proficient technical skills. 
  • Applications experience including MS 365, MC Teams, SharePoint, Adobe, Citrix, Word Press, Google Apps.
