In the newly created and critical role of Senior Manager Training and Development, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce by leading and managing our training and development function. 

Here's how you'll make a significant impact: 

  • Develop and implement: Lead the creation of a strategic training and development plan, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.  
  • Drive innovation: Champion innovative approaches to training and development that position Queensland Rail as a leader in the rail industry.  
  • Subject matter expertise: Provide strategic advice and guidance on workforce competency and capability development across the organization.  
  • Governance and assurance: Lead the establishment and implementation of robust frameworks, policies, and reporting systems for training and development activities.  
  • Team leadership: Foster a high-performing and collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement and customer service.  
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our training programs effectively address their needs. 

To excel in this role, you'll possess: 

  • A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams within a complex operational environment. 
  • Extensive knowledge of workforce development principles and practices, including experience in designing and implementing impactful training programs at an organisational level. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address evolving business needs. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence key decision-makers. 
  • Demonstrated project management expertise with a focus on change management and stakeholder engagement.
