Our Profile
The primary role of Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is to facilitate integrated and ecologically sustainable management of natural, cultural, and productive landscapes within the region.
What you will do:
The Salinity and Irrigation Groundwater Technical Specialist will play a key role in supporting the effective and efficient management of the Mallee CMA’s salinity management programs, functions and services in accordance with the Mallee Regional Catchment Strategy (2022-28) and the Victorian Mallee Irrigation Region Land and Water Management Plan 2020-29.
The successful candidate will work with the existing Salinity and Irrigation team to build sound knowledge in this area and assist with generating and project managing innovative and impactful developments.
A key focus of this role will be managing Victoria’s compliance program for salinity accounting for the region; overseeing works and measures to generate salinity credits; and the implementation of salinity management policies to comply with the Mallee region’s monitoring and reporting obligations.
What we are looking for:
- A highly organised individual who is driven by their love of the landscape. This person will become a key part of our Salinity and Irrigation team and offer valuable insights.
- An experienced professional with a university degree in geology, environmental management, or science discipline, along with a post graduate qualification in groundwater hydrogeology or equivalent.
- Someone with exposure to groundwater modelling/investigation, and/or extensive experience in a similar position.
