About you

  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management practices, legislation and activities within a public sector organisation, and demonstrable ability to manage vendor activity from conception through to completion.
  • Strong commercial and operational acumen with a proven record in dealing with suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reporting, presentation skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with and present complex concepts and methodologies to technical and non-technical stakeholders and decision-makers at all levels.
  • Passionate about staying up to date with emerging technologies and trends, with a keen interest and proven experience working with suppliers to leverage these innovations to enhance educational outcomes
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, managing multiple stakeholders, comfortable working with executives, initiatives and tasks effectively.
  • Meticulous, organised, self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain management, procurement or contract management and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
