About the event:

During our leadership journey, we inevitably face obstacles and seemingly insurmountable challenges. Some of these can be hugely frustrating at times and if avoided, can prevent us from moving forward. It is essential that we maintain perspective and tackle these obstacles head on. Doing so builds character and contributes to your development in positive ways. Adverse circumstances force us to rethink our tactics, push us outside of our comfort zones and adapt to new situations - these all contribute to honing your leadership capability over time.

No amount of schooling can fully prepare us for career turbulence. The real education comes when you make these mistakes and learn from them. It is in those darker moments when we should embrace failure; this is the time when we learn our most valuable lessons, and when learning to trust your instincts becomes essential. While in the moment, it is difficult to see the positives in a negative situation. Upon reflection, many leaders cite challenges presented to them as the greatest gift in their leadership journey. They view it as an essential opportunity to grow.

The 7th Public Sector Women in Leadership NSW Summit 2017 will provide attendees with the opportunity to develop their skill set and learn valuable strategies to stand strong in the face of some of work’s extraordinary challenges. Our inspirational speakers will discuss the pinnacle moments that have defined their leadership, and provide insight on a positive visions of success for the future. They will inspire you and provide sound advice on how to deal with the challenges, but also the fantastic opportunities that accompany Public Sector leadership
