The Queensland Government has exceeded its women’s representation targets for government-owned businesses.

The government has appointed 56 new and reappointed directors to boards of government-owned businesses.

Out of these appointments, 30 are women, exceeding the government's target of achieving 50 per cent representation of women on government-owned business boards.

These government-owned businesses are responsible for delivering critical services, including energy and water supply, passenger and freight rail, trade through key ports, and managing invested funds on the state's behalf.

The Palaszczuk Government says it remains committed to increasing women's representation not only in the public sector but also in the private and not-for-profit sectors.
