The Queensland Parliament has extended the reporting date for the parliamentary committee conducting the review into the workers’ compensation scheme to May 23 this year.

The extension was announced late last week during parliament, with WorkCover Queensland reiterating its commitment to the review and will continue to ‘participate in an open and transparent way’. The agency has stressed that it remains ‘business as usual’ in the meantime.

The review was announced in June last year and is in the process of examining how the state’s worker’s compensation scheme performs and seeks to benchmark it against the other states’ programs.
