The New South Wales Government has invited members of the ICT sector and broader general public to have their say on the formation of a new ICT use and procurement policy.

State Minister for Finance and Services, Greg Pearce, officially opened the consultation period of the NSW Government ICT Strategy earlier this week.

“Since releasing our ICT strategy, the Government has established Service NSW to focus on delivering more effective services for the community and cutting red tape when entering into contracts to supply ICT services to government,” Mr Pearce said.

“We are delivering on our open data initiative to improve information management, making it easier for small business to engage with government agencies and develop the right skills in our ICT staff.”

Mr Pearce said that the key priority initatives include Service NSW; Open Government; Infrastructure and Managed Services; Open Data; Procurement Reform; Managing Information for Better Services; and ICT Skills and Innovation.
