Marlene Morison has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Queensland Corrective Services.

 

Ms Morison replaces the previous Commissioner, Kelvin Anderson, who was appointed Director-General of the Department of Community Safety last year.

 

Ms Morison has worked in a variety of roles and functions in the areas of corrections, probation and parole, offender management, research and prison management, including working as a forensic psychologist; designed prison treatment programs; commissioned prisons, and in sentence management of major offenders.

She spent much of her career working in the Victorian correctional system rising to the role of Director – Prison Services.

She  then joined Queensland Corrective Services as the Deputy Commissioner (Custodial Operations) in November 2009.
