A former Renewal SA worker has become the first public servant charged with breaching ICAC secrecy rules.

The woman has been charged with breaching secrecy provisions covering investigations by South Australia's Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (ICAC).

ICAC Commissioner Bruce Lander has revealed that the 24-year-old woman from Paradise is accused of receiving and disclosing information without being authorised to do so.

She allegedly knew that the information was connected with a matter involving an ICAC investigation.

Section 54 of the ICAC Act prohibits such disclosures unless the person gets authorisation in writing from the commissioner.

It is alleged that disclosures were made on four separate occasions in September 2018.

The case marks the first time someone has been charged with breaching the Section 54 provisions.

The woman is expected to appear in court in October.
