About the role:

This role will see you perform a range of safe and timely respiratory function tests on patients presenting to the Tamworth Cardiorespiratory Unit, as well as managing the day-to-day tasks of the clinical service. You will be responsible for the ordering of equipment, calibration of specialised equipment, and using patient data bases.

You will receive onsite orientation and will be supported by our staff specialist and Nurse Unit Manager.

The Tamworth Hospital Cardiorespiratory Unit is primarily an outpatient service, with the majority of respiratory and cardiac assessments, as well as clinical work, being with non-admitted patients. The Unit operates from Monday – Friday business hours. For the respiratory component of the Unit, referrals come from GP’s and respiratory specialists requesting testing of patients’ pulmonary function.

About You:

We are looking for someone with the ability to work well in a small multidisciplinary role, as well as autonomously. You should be able to effectively troubleshoot issues and be adaptable to demand.

Our ideal candidate is a quick learner with strong IT knowledge and a focus on providing quality customer service.

  • Undergraduate Degree in Applied Science or other degree in Science deemed equivalent by the employer.

Additional Information:

  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
