Community Engagement Officer - Major Projects (Term up to 24 months)

What you’ll do: 

  • Support the successful development, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of communication and stakeholder engagement plans for major projects.
  • Ensure the development of communication materials to support communication and stakeholder engagement plan for major projects, including intranet and internet content, newsletters (internal and external), brochures and flyers, display materials, presentations, fact sheets, and draft media releases. 
  • Provide strategic advice regarding stakeholder engagement activities and obligations to project managers and officers.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement databases for reporting and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Plan and manage major project events, to meet organisational community engagement schedule and coordinate formal community engagement forums and committees.

What we are looking for:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as stakeholder engagement, communications, public relations or significant equivalent community engagement experience
  • IAP2 accreditation is desirable
  • Preparedness to travel within NSW
  • Availability to work on call and out-of-hours duties particular during incidents
  • Demonstrated experience in major infrastructure in regional NSW, preferably in water or renewable energy industries
  • Proven high level experience in managing community engagement projects including the development and implementation of community engagement plans
  • Proven experience managing contractors and agencies that support the development and delivery of communication and community engagement activities
