Senior Development Assessment Planner

 

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Development Assessment Planne r for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Parramatta. This is an initial contract until 28/02/2025 with strong possibility of extension due to a significant pipeline of projects. The pay rate is $72.63ph + super for 40 hours per week and WFH is available for up to 3 days per week with Tuesday and Thursday’s in the Parramatta Office.
 
The Senior Planner role will provide planning advice, review the impact of Government planning policies and housing policy initiatives, manage consultants as required and assist with undertaking planning approvals. The role is required to work in a small team to achieve milestones and team deliverables and with external stakeholders (including other Government agencies) to achieve the outcomes of the team.
 
Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders, providers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Conduct and document planning and legislative issues and reporting, project status and perform risk management analyses on project performance for early issues management.
  • Advise on the appropriateness of different approaches to managing planning risks across projects. This includes identifying planning risks and environmental impacts and compliance matters to ensure projects are delivered in line with expected objectives

Candidate Requirements:

  • 4-5 years + Statutory Planning experience in either Local/State Government or Consultancy
  • Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or related discipline or equivalent planning experience.
