What you'll be doing
The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of Sydney Children's Hospital Network participating in research studies and/or clinical trials. This role will assist with the coordination and implementation of a number of research studies within the Cancer Centre for Children.
The Clinical Research Nurse will participate in the recruitment of research participants, facilitation of the consent process, administration of clinical interventions required as part of the study, observing and responding to side effects as well as liaising with study sponsors and ensuring the accurate collection and submission of data, in line with the study protocols and research regulations.
The Clinical Research Nurse acts as a role model within the clinical research team by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the relevant clinical area of their post-registration qualification.
- Experience or strong interest in the administration, coordination and delivery of paediatric research and clinical trials
- Demonstrated excellent organisational skill and ability to prioritise workload with competing demands
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively including verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and autonomously while adhering to scope of practice
- Computer literacy, including experience in Microsoft Office
- Ability to be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of clinical workload
