Senior Manager - Data Platforms

About the role
There is an exciting opportunity to join WorkSafe Victoria’s Data & Analytics leadership team as a Senior Manager Data Platforms.
This is a key role in the Data & Analytics leadership team. As Senior Manager Data Platforms, you will be playing a pivotal part in bridging strategy with delivery and capability uplift, while leading work that’s directly linked to WorkSafe Victoria’s long-term success.

Key accountabilities:
- Lead a team of technical specialists by developing Data & Analytics capabilities in others to provide reporting, analytics, technology delivery, and consultative services to non-technical executive stakeholders
- Develop and maintain senior stakeholder relationships and proactively partner to determine needs, agree priorities, and effectively allocate team capacity to meet agreed deliverables and milestones
- Provide an authoritative and independent view of performance that is transparent & understood, including implications to the organisation, and includes early warning of emerging risks/opportunities
- Provide highly specialist technical advice, leadership and guidance to the broader IMF team and all business units to support the delivery and implementation of data warehousing and engineering strategy, patterns, and frameworks
- Provide leadership and technical subject matter expertise in the deployment of modern analytics solutions, upholding defined techniques, principles, and methodologies.

About you
You are an experienced Leader with exceptional interpersonal skills for communicating with management and peers. You have a sound understanding of data modelling principles and frameworks including conceptual, logical and physical data models for operational systems, data lakes, data warehouses and data marts. Further, you will also possess:
- Excellent understanding of relational database technologies (SQLServer, Aurion, DB2, etc.) and cloud analytics (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.), with direct experience with SnowFlake and AWS Cloud data technologies and services (e.g. Glue / Airflow / Cloud-watch)
- Deep understanding of data processing and data modelling patterns and solutions to support Data Warehousing, Big Data, Cloud, Business Intelligence, and Information Management capabilities
- Demonstrated high level proficiency to deliver tactical solutions to new projects and initiatives that meet the demands of the business and align with the overall strategy of the organisation
- Experience successfully managing Tier One vendors to deliver large scale data platform solutions
- Understanding of Agile development methods including core values, guiding principles, and key agile practices.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline Qualification is mandatory
