The Opportunity:
As an Environmental Advisor at Parklife Metro JV, you will play a key role in ensuring that our project complies with environmental regulations and sustainability standards and you will increase the environmental awareness on the project. You will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to assess environmental impacts, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor compliance throughout the project lifecycle. 

This role will be primarily based out of our Badgerys Creek located offices however travel across the alignment (St Marys to Bradfield) may be required. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for Parklife Metro JV projects, including identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation measures.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) in alignment with project requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with environmental permits, licenses, and regulations.
  • Provide environmental training, support and guidance to project teams and subcontractors to promote best practices and environmental stewardship.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and environmental consultants to address environmental concerns and facilitate approvals.
  • Collaborate with design and construction teams to integrate sustainable design principles and technologies into project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous compliance with environmental standards.
  • Prepare environmental reports, documentation, and submissions for regulatory review and approval.
  • Stay informed about emerging environmental trends, regulations, and technologies to inform project decision-making and strategy development.

Criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or another related field.
  • White Card
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in the infrastructure or construction sector
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, impact assessment methodologies, and sustainability best practices.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
