Who we are looking for

We have an ongoing full-time position for a Water Resources Planner, based in Warrnambool. This position comes with a generous salary of $86,275 to $93,801 p.a. plus superannuation.

We're looking for someone to lead strategic initiatives to ensure the sustainable management of our water resources and to plan for future demand, adopting strategies to manage the impacts for the future.

What you'll be doing

On a day-to-day basis, you'll:

  • Lead the development and ongoing implementation of our Urban Water Strategy using an Integrated Water Management mindset, while regularly reviewing supply and demand trends.
  • Coordinate water resource investigations, monitor implementation actions and report progress and outcomes.
  • Investigate our ability to meet the water and sewerage needs of new and large customers, analysing the impacts of climate change and meeting the challenges to adapt to them.
  • Assess the performance of existing systems and recommend improvements or upgrades to inform our strategic plans.

What you'll bring

We’re looking for someone with

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science or suitable equivalent with some relevant experience.
  • Experience in the water industry, with a focus on water resource planning, including supply and demand projections is highly valued.
  • Experience in the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater systems is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and excellent time management.
