Position Summary:

You will provide high level, authoritative and strategic advice and cross functional expertise to the department in the field of health, safety and wellbeing including worker's compensation. This will include critical policy and procedure formulation, identification and management of major risk factors and supporting the programs in the development of viable solutions to address program delivery and operational health safety and wellbeing issues.

You will effectively manage and provide leadership to internal and external stakeholders including WorkSafe Victoria, the department's workers compensation insurer, and the department's employee wellbeing supports service provider.  In building and maintaining relationships with these stakeholders you will ensure that the department's interests are promoted and protected.

You will be required to represent the People and Culture branch and the department at inter-agency forums and state-wide forums, conferences, committees and relevant working groups. This role will require you to be passionate about making a difference in a diverse and exciting workplace

Are you:

  • Experienced in providing strong leadership to and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate enhanced health safety and wellbeing for employees and clients
  • Passionate about delivering HSW outcomes to support staff to go home safely every day
  • An experienced HSW professional with high calibre risk management expertise with a proven track record
