The opportunity

ActewAGL’s People & Legal Division is seeking motivated individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to take on a great opportunity as our Group Secretary. In this role you will facilitate ActewAGL’s corporate governance processes and ensure that our Joint Venture Partnerships Board, its committees and the boards of subsidiary companies run efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with ASIC reporting obligations.

About your new role

  • Coordinate end to end Board and Board Committee management and meetings including preparation of correspondence and reports, timely completion of necessary documentation, general secretarial support and quality assurance.
  • Promote good governance by building effective working relationships with the Board, Committee members, the Chief Executive Officer, Executive team and all relevant stakeholders and ensure they have the necessary support, resources and information.
  • Ensure our governance practices are transparent and compliant with ASIC obligations (where applicable) by developing, implementing and reviewing corporate governance initiatives and procedures.
  • Undertake a range of research, projects and initiatives on topics related to the Board and corporate governance.

About you

  • You have relevant qualifications in governance, business or a related discipline; or equivalent experience. (Essential)
  • You have knowledge and understanding of good corporate governance - theory and practice. (Essential)
  • You have experience in the provision of board/company secretariat services with minimal supervision. (Essential)
  • You have experience in consulting and working with a broad range of key stakeholders. (Essential)
  • You have experience in the energy/utilities sector or regulated asset-centric business. (Desirable)
  • You have knowledge and understanding of relevant ASIC and Corporations Act requirements. (Desirable)
