Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end.

The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.

We are looking for three Water System Operator to join our team, to perform routine operation, monitoring and maintenance of Water Services assets associated with the potable water supply including Water Treatment plants in the Darwin and surrounding areas. This role includes the requirement to work with treatment chemicals such as chlorine gas etc., to enter Confined Spaces on occasions to undertake works that requires use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and where applicable working at heights certifications. Participate in a routine on-call roster to provide response to urgent after-hours system faults that may occur.

You will have AQF Certificate III in water operations and or relevant Trade Certificate with demonstrated experience in Water supply operations, current NT Drivers licence or ability to obtain. Relevant knowledge and experience in the operation of Water Headworks supply systems with sound knowledge of and the use of SCADA control system to operate and interrogate Water system operations and faults.

Confined space entry, breathing apparatus, working at heights certificates, knowledge in and operation of Water Treatment systems such as DAFF plants in the Water Supply industry are considered highly desirable.

Appointment level will depend on knowledge, skill and experience.
