Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Asset Geospatial Officer to join our organisation. Reporting to the Manager Asset Management this role will see you contributing to the operational effectiveness of Water Services by supporting the development and use of Power and Water’s Geographical Information System (GIS) with a specific focus on the management of spatial data related to water and sewerage assets. Power and Water currently use the ESRI GIS suite of products.
We are looking for a candidate who has well-developed experience and skills working with the ESRI Geographic Information System. The successful candidate will have experience compiling and analysing data for technical and management reports, using Feature Manipulation Engine to manipulate, transform and report data and using field based GPS tools to map asset locations. You will have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships across key stakeholders and a culturally diverse range of customers.
Relevant tertiary level qualifications, and knowledge of the spatial data needs, function and operation of a modern water utility would be viewed favourably.
