Partnerships, Projects and Insights (PPI) and the Disaster Preparation and Recovery team are both looking for Project Managers.

About the divisions...

Partnerships, Projects and Insights (PPI) is a growing team with an exciting future ahead. Over the past few years, we have helped the lives of people in NSW through initiatives such as Vouchers, Grant and Rebate Programs, Digital Identity & Verifiable Credentials, and have some great initiatives in the pipeline.

The Disaster Preparation & Recovery team is a new division established by Service NSW to provide a one stop shop for citizens of NSW who are affected by natural disasters such as floods and bushfires. Our role is to make sure Service NSW is well prepared and responds to natural disasters and other crisis events with effective services that meet the needs of people in some of their most difficult times.

In disasters, Service NSW assist customers by stepping through various support options available such as financial support and stimulus packages, helping individuals and businesses access financial assistance and connecting impacted customers with short- and long-term housing and other vital services.

About the role...

As a Project Manager at Service NSW, you will be the voice of the customer and ultimately define what success looks like. You will be balancing priorities and engaging with subject matter experts across the organisation and beyond.

You will think big and work in a balanced team of like-minded individuals with a variety of skills, who share your passion. You will plan and oversee critical and highly complex projects from the initial ideation through to completion.

You will need to have an ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances (applicable to roles in Disaster Preparation and Recovery only).

Your day to day

  • As the Project Manager you will manage and oversee all aspects of the project management cycle, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget
  • Develop key project artefacts
  • Coordinate resources
  • Manage budgets and reporting
  • Manage relationships and communication with all stakeholders
  • Be the subject matter expert and provide expert advice and information
  • Monitor and continually look for ways to improve
  • Mentor and lead your team to be successful

About you

Strong experience in project management. You have relevant tertiary quals and strong experience in managing diverse transformational and digital projects. You live and breathe project management and it's your passion.

Excellent understanding of project management methodology. You know what they are talking about when you hear words like sprints, discovery, risk management, budget forecast and lean business case. You have experience working in an agile environment.

Outstanding communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. You encourage diversity of thought and thrive in a team environment. You have top notch facilitation skills that guide discussions into outcomes and have some leadership or mentoring experience.

Customer-oriented and proud. You are motivated by, and take ownership of, delivering valuable outcomes to your customer.

Continuous improvement forever! You are a lifelong learner, always driven to improve processes and outcomes. You value closed feedback loops, and the concepts of iteration and incremental improvement.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $117,324 base plus superannuation
