Digital Science Environments Administrator - Computational Research - Federal Government

One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage an experienced Digital Science Environments Administrator to assist with the build, run and documentation of cutting edge Computational Research Networks and Systems. You will manage multiple logically separated and intersecting research environments each customised for research purposes. The role will be based in Adelaide with the successful Digital Science Environments Administrator to be offered a contract until June 2025 with a 12 month extension option.   

The successful Digital Science Environments Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Configuration management of research system hardware
• Administering and operating Data Movement services inline with organisational policies and procedures
• Asset Management request creation and updates
• Looking at technical research components and scientific computing infrastructure

The successful Digital Science Environments Administrator will have experience in the following:

• Exceptional troubleshooting and fault finding skills
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Linux and/or Windows Desktop Servers
• Compute Server Management and Hosting experience
• Scripting/Programming skills (eg PowerShell, Python and Java)
