An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Critical Care Pharmacist to join a dynamic team at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH).

What you'll be doing

The Specialist Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to patients within the ICU at Royal North Shore Hospital.

  • Provides expert guidance and advice to pharmacists and other healthcare professional providing clinical services in the Intensive Care Unit.
  • Supports education and training of clinical pharmacists working in the Intensive Care Unit to facilitate 7 day per week service delivery.
  • Participate in clinical pharmacy services provision including the general roster as required, including participating in weekend, public holiday, and on-call rosters.
  • Participating in relevant research projects and presenting at professional conferences & publication in relevant journals.
  • Collaboration with Intensive Care Unit in the ongoing management of critical care patients at RNSH.
  • Supports clinical pharmacy service provision for patients stepped down to inpatient wards from ICU.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  2. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the provision of Pharmacy services to consumers, carers and families requiring medication reconciliation, dispensing and dosing.
  3. Proven ability to work independently and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the provision of advanced clinical pharmacy services including advanced level practice in Critical Care in a hospital setting.
