What you'll be doing

Kids Cancer Centre clinical research team provides advice, training and resources to support investigators who are interested to conduct clinical research across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. The Clinical Research Associate is responsible for aspects of clinical trials including ethics submissions, accurate collection, maintenance, validation and reporting of data relating to children treated for solid tumours and blood cancers. The Clinical Research Associate will support investigators to run clinical trials according to the research protocol, ICH-GCP Guidelines, applicable regulatory and local requirements, and within set timelines and budget. 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications or a demonstrated experience in clinical research (e.g. having worked as a Clinical Trial Coordinator).
  2. Demonstrated experience in clinical research or clinical trials including sound knowledge of GCP/ICH Guidelines, TGA Guidelines and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  3. Demonstrated ability to meet clinical trial recruitment and data management deadlines in light of competing research and clinical priorities.
  4. Demonstrated experience in obtaining Ethics and Governance approvals.
  5. Demonstrated high level communication skills both written and oral including demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of a multi-disciplinary health care team.
  6. Demonstrated high level ability in the use of computer applications and databases, including experience with electronic Case Report Forms.
  7. Demonstrated confidence to work independently with proactive problem solving abilities and the ability to meticulously follow policies and procedures.
  8. Demonstrated ability of good time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
