About this role:

Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects Integration (MPI) team, the Manager Commercial & Contracts will manage the contractual and commercial items relating to the projects that MPI are accountable for enabling the successful delivery and integration of major growth and transformational rail projects. It is an exciting time to join QLD Rail with huge growth on the horizon as we get ready for Olympics 2032 and beyond!

You can expect some of the responsibilities of the role to include:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including DTMR, Delivery Authorities and internal departments
  • Lead negotiations and successful navigation of governance obligations
  • Prepare detailed analysis and advice on current best practice to support strategic decision making
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members to ensure effective support while providing strategic advice and an escalation point on evaluation of contractual and commercial matters.
  • Manage legislative, contractual, governance and regulatory compliance through the life of the major projects to ensure risk mitigation and benefit realisation related to the various agreements.
  • In conjunction with other MPI functions support and assist in the asset handover process to ensure that Queensland Rail’s requirements are being achieved.

Some of what you will bring to the role:

  • Good knowledge of governing legislation, regulatory, commercial and contractual requirements in a government environment
  • High level of skill in negotiation, implementation and ongoing management of government and commercial arrangements
  • Sound level of strategic, conceptual, analytical, collaborative and influencing skills
  • Extensive knowledge interpreting, managing and translating evolving commercial requirements in a contractually diverse environment
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
