Your opportunity 

Queensland Rail is seeking a talented GIS Analyst on a temporary full-time basis until 06/06/2025 at our Brisbane location. As a GIS Analyst you will maximise productivity for Queensland Rail through efficient and cost-effective management of the updating of Queensland Rail Route Maps and GIS information into a format which is utilised by field employees in a timely and accurate manner, and maintain Queensland Rail GIS datasets, processes and procedures to recognised best practice.

Overview of responsibilities

  • Assisting the Digital Engineering manage to develop and maintain spatial products and services to the business.
  • Work with the GIS and Digital Engineering Team to develop and deliver spatial solutions to the business.
  • Develop and maintain FME workflows and automations.
  • Develop and maintain integrations to present enterprise data.
  • Working with the Digital Engineering Manager to grow awareness and use of GIS within the business.

We are looking for someone with:

  • a solutions-driven, outcomes-based approach.
  • an ability to work autonomously and within the team to balance workloads.
  • FME training or experience (highly desirable).
  • Qualifications in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field are highly desirable.
  • Advanced certifications in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) are highly desirable.
  • Awareness of Digital Engineering processes and workflows is advantageous.
