Human Resources Coordinator
Due to an increase in contracts, we have a NEW and exciting role! HR Coordinator
Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation (NBAC) has been operating since 1970 and works to deliver wellbeing and self-determination for all Ngarliyarndu (Aboriginal people associated with Roebourne and the coastal Pilbara). NBAC is owned by Aboriginal people of our local community and guided by a board of local Aboriginal elders from various language groups. All NBAC efforts are focused on local solutions for local people.
NBAC’s commercial subsidiaries, Brida Pty Ltd and Handy Hands, are award-winning and 100% Aboriginal owned. They lead social enterprise service standards and have secured multi-year commercial contracts with the local industry partners.
About the Role
This is a new and exciting role, and as the HR Coordinator you will have the rare opportunity to shape the HR function into best practice!
This position reports through to the General Manager of Social Innovation & Corporate Services. You will lead your team to success and will be the HR focal point for the business providing proactive, timely, accurate and professional HR support. You won’t be alone though! You will be supported by a recruitment officer and HR Officer.
As a true HR generalist, you will contribute and be involved in projects that enhance our service delivery effectiveness.
The role requirements are broad and wide-ranging. Some of the key functions are:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and programs supporting the organisations objectives
- Collaborate with senior management to align HR initiatives with business objectives
- Provide advice and coaching regarding policy interpretation as required
- Assist and undertake employee investigations as required and manage appropriately
- Support managers in identifying staffing needs, succession planning and talent development activities.
- Undertake research and analysis to create HR metrics
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations and maintain up to date knowledge of legal requirements
- Oversee the preparation and submission of HR reports and compliance related documentation
- provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to the HR team
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the HR department

The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous HR experience
- Have tertiary qualifications in HR or a relevant field;
- Have intermediate computer and administration skills
- Be process driven with the discipline to start and finish projects
- Be able to look at what the businesses needs and then put plans in place to close the gaps
- Be flexible and enthusiastic about making positive change
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to engage and influence effectively and respectfully
As we are a Not for Profit you also have access to Salary packaging of up to $30,000
