The South Australian Government has announced a ten-year funding agreement for the state’s libraries after Minister Assisting the Premier in the Arts John Hill and Local Government Association President Major Kym McHugh signed a co-funding agreement.

The agreement secures more than $185m in State subsidies for public libraries, with Councils expected to invest more than $570m over the same period.

A key element of the agreement is investment in technology, including the development of the One Library Management System which, over the next three years, will connect all of the State’s 134 public libraries.
