The New South Wales Government has announced a complete overhaul of its primary ICT services contract process in a bid to make it easier, simpler and more attractive for contractors to do business with the government.

State Minister for Finance and Services, Greg Pearce, said that the reform to the contract is critical for government to improve the way it delivers services to the community.

“This reform follows extensive consultation between government and industry to make the most of procurement opportunities and features a simple online application process to replace previous costly panel contracting arrangements,” Mr Pearce said.

Mr Pearce said the reforms will introduce a ‘two-tier’ system that will allow for a more realistic supplier listing and a new short-form contract for low risk goods and services valued under $150,000.

“The NSW Government ICT Strategy 2012 provides a comprehensive approach to identifying, sourcing and procuring ICT goods and services using new, innovative and effective approaches,” Mr Pearce said.

Developments for the new arrangements will be published on the ProcurePoint website at https://www.procurepoint.nsw.gov.au/before-you-buy/prequalificationschemes-0/ict-services-scheme
