The South Australian Government has welcomed the appointment of Federal Court Judge Bruce Lander as the first Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.

Premier Jay Weatherill commended Justice Lander and thanked him for taking the position.

“Justice Bruce Lander brings an enormous amount of experience and gravitas to the critical role of our first Commissioner,” Mr Weatherill said.

“This is an outcome of which South Australians can be rightly proud.

“To have such a highly regarded Federal Court Judge head the South Australian ICAC will reaffirm confidence in the integrity of South Australia’s public offices.”
