Date set for next SA corruption hearing
A public servant facing corruption charges says he will fight on.
Sixty-one-year-old South Australian man Paul David Hellander has faced an Adelaide court accused of six counts of abuse of public office between February and July 2013.
According to his LinkedIn profile, the public servant worked as a manager at the Interpreting and Translating Centre for several years.
In a brief hearing earlier this week, prosecutors alleged the charges were about improper use of information for personal gain.
Outside court, Mr Hellander’s lawyer said his client would fight the charges.
It is one of two prosecutions to have been made public in recent days by the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption in South Australia.
A date has been set next month for the second hearing, before which the prosecution is expected to provide documents to Hellander’s lawyer.
