Over $10 million is being provided for grassroots programs to support Australia's most vulnerable communities.

The Australian Government is allocating over $10.3 million to support vulnerable communities through the Strong and Resilient Communities Activity (SARC) – Inclusive Communities grants.

The initiative aims to strengthen community-based programs across the country by providing funding to 34 organisations, each eligible for up to $360,000.

The funds will assist various groups facing social and economic challenges.

The grants specifically target youth at risk of disengagement, people with disabilities or mental health issues, unemployed individuals with barriers to employment, and vulnerable women.

The funds are intended to support local solutions, focusing on education, social participation, and community empowerment.

“Strong communities are those who look after people doing it tough, helping them to create a better future,” said Amanda Rishworth, Minister for Social Services.

Since 2022, nearly $45 million has been invested in SARC grants.

More information about the SARC Activity is available on the Department of Social Services website.
