Big re-jig for Baird's new direction
The post-election revamp of the NSW public sector has begun, with new Administrative Arrangements outlining the organisational changes.
Under the Administrative Arrangements (Administrative Changes-Public Service Agencies) Order 2015, the Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services will be replaced by the Department of Industry, Skills and Regional Development (DISRD).
The Office of Finance and Services has been re-named to the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI), to reflect the scope of a new cluster in the structure of government.
The Ministry for Police and Emergency Services has been abolished, with staff to move over to the Department of Justice.
The Office of Communities (except the Office of Aboriginal Affairs) has been transferred from the Department of Education and Communities to the new Department of Communities.
The Office of Veterans' Affairs has moved from the Department of Premier and Cabinet to the Department of Justice, while Women NSW (previously part of the Department of Family and Community Services) transfers to the Ministry of Health.
The Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing is now part of the Department of Justice.
