The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia’s independent expert regulator for health and safety, environmental management, structural and well integrity for offshore petroleum facilities and activities in Commonwealth waters.

Working with NOPSEMA provides an opportunity to make a real difference to people working in Australia’s offshore oil and gas industry and the environment.  

NOPSEMA currently has non-ongoing, full-time employment opportunities, initially for a period of up to 18 months with possible extensions, for experienced petroleum industry professionals to join the Well Integrity Team in the Safety and Integrity Division, based either in Perth or Melbourne.

Well Integrity Specialist must be able to demonstrate extensive skills, knowledge and experience that includes elements of the following:

  • Planning, design, construction, operation and management of wells and well control;
  • Drilling, completions and intervention and / or petroleum, production engineering and sub-surface disciplines;
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and / or comprehensive experience in the offshore or upstream petroleum industry.

Well Integrity Engineer must be able to demonstrate good skills and knowledge including elements of the following:

  • Planning, design, construction, operation and management of wells and well control;
  • Drilling, completions and intervention and / or petroleum, production engineering and sub-surface disciplines;
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and / or relevant experience in the offshore or upstream petroleum industry.
