 This position will undertake research into interactions between soil constraints and plant productivity and how new technology and management practices can be used to sustainably improve the productivity of Australian dryland cropping systems.

Reporting to the Senior Scientist, the successful applicant will have a strong fundamental research background in soil science and/or plant science/agronomy. They will have demonstrated experience in designing and conducting laboratory, controlled environment and field-based research. The applicant will need to manage, analyse and interpret diverse data sets. The ability to innovate and to use and adapt modern technologies to problem solve is highly desirable. They will be able to effectively communicate research to a range of stakeholders and publish research in high quality peer reviewed journals. The successful applicant will need to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and be able to work collaboratively with a range of people, including farmers, technicians, students and scientists. They will need to be self-motivated, organised, with the ability to think critically.
