How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne...
The Team Leader Circular Economy leads delivery of effective circular economy outcomes for the City of Melbourne. With a collaborative approach you will bring together circular economy efforts across the municipality to achieve measurable outcomes.
With innovation and creativity, you will analyse and interpret information to develop sound frameworks for dealing with complex and specialised issues. You will build and maintain relationships, facilitate new connections, and articulate shared value to support workable, cost-effective solutions to the cities’ circular economy challenge.
Drawing upon and developing your own networks within the recycling industry and community, you will lead resolutions to the current waste and recycling challenges faced across the municipality. This role will require you to independently develop strategies which facilitate funding, partnerships and links to community networks.
Critical to your success will be your high level, systematic problem solving approaches within a complex environment. You will possess the ability to consult, negotiate and communicate with all levels of staff, government agencies, stakeholders and the community, both verbally and in writing. Operating in a complex and political environment, the ability to analyse and synthesise complex information and communicate effectively is essential.

•Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
•Leadership capability including leading by example and consistently working towards a constructive culture.
•Demonstrated experience applying strategic thinking, development, planning, delivery and performance reporting.
•Experience in building and facilitating strategic partnerships to deliver circular economy outcomes.
•Well-developed skills and experience in leading and delivering projects on time and on budget, whilst balancing and responding to competing priorities.
•Demonstrated ability to build a business case for change, capacity building and behaviour change approaches to influence circular economy outcomes.
•Analytical and lateral thinking skills.
•Relevant tertiary qualifications in waste, sustainability, public policy, business or equivalent.
